Bring the finishing stage together.

Second fix carpentry for your home

The final carpentry details help turn a building or renovation project into a finished home. We discuss the interior elements you need fitted, the condition of the space and how the work fits into your wider plans.

Based in Bromsgrove, Stuart Crawford brings more than 10 years of industry experience and a practical approach to planning and fitting interior woodwork.

Interior fitting requirements

Share the doors, trims and other interior carpentry elements your project needs. We will review the scope with you and confirm the work included in the proposal.

Renovation finishing work

If other work is taking place, tell us what stage the project has reached. Understanding the room and its readiness helps us discuss an appropriate sequence for the carpentry.

Details that work together

Consider how the visible elements relate to the rest of your interior. Existing profiles, finishes and fittings can help guide a consistent approach.

A clearly agreed scope

Whether the work is for one room or several, a useful starting point is a list of the items you need completed. We can then discuss requirements, materials and timing.

A practical start to the fitting stage

Clear information helps us understand the work and its place in your project. Tell us what is already in place, what still needs doing and whether materials have been selected or supplied.

Useful details to share

  • The rooms involved and the items to be fitted.
  • The current stage of the building or renovation work.
  • Any materials or fittings already selected.
  • Your preferred timing and other trades to coordinate with.

The details make the difference

Consider knobs, handles, lighting and internal fittings alongside your main design. We can also discuss feature-wall finishes and worktops where they are relevant to your project.

Your questions answered

Can you help with a small amount of finishing work?

Share the details of the work you need. We will review the scope and discuss suitability and availability before agreeing the next steps.

Should I buy the materials before contacting you?

Speak to us first where possible. If you already have materials, tell us what they are so their suitability and fitting requirements can be considered.

Do you need to move furniture out first?

The room needs to be clear where we are working. We will tell you exactly what needs moving before the installation date so there are no surprises on the morning.

Can you work with a room that is still being decorated?

Yes, and the order matters. It is usually best to fit the furniture before the final decorating so any making good is covered, but we will talk through the sequence for your project.

How do I know what storage I actually need?

Most people underestimate hanging and overestimate shelving. Part of the design visit is going through what you own and how you use it, so the layout suits reality rather than a generic split.
