Book heights, depths and quantities influence a useful arrangement. We consider the available walls, how you reach the shelves and the space you want to retain for reading or other activities.
Discuss the sizes and expected weight of the collection. Shelf spans and construction should be chosen for the proposed use.
Useful access is essential. The layout should leave space to move, find a book and use nearby seating comfortably.
Cupboards or drawers can be considered for paperwork and other items, with display areas for pieces that belong among the shelves.
Photographs, approximate dimensions and a few ideas help us understand the space. We will discuss the proposed layout, materials and practical constraints before agreeing the scope and specification.
Knobs, handles and lighting can be considered alongside your main design. We can also discuss internal fittings and surfaces where they are relevant to the way your furniture will be used.
No. A fitted library can be discussed for part of a living room, an office or another suitable space. Its proportions should suit the wider room.
Yes. We can plan different shelf spacings and discuss adjustable arrangements where suitable for the agreed construction.

The written quotation sets out the agreed scope and price. If something changes once work is under way — usually because of what is found behind an old unit — we tell you before doing it rather than afterwards.
