Fitted furniture, designed in Bromsgrove

Bespoke Fitted Furniture in Four Oaks

We design and install bespoke fitted furniture for homes in Four Oaks — one of the most established residential areas in Sutton Coldfield. The housing here runs to large Edwardian and interwar houses, many on generous plots, and no two rooms ask for quite the same thing.

We are based in Bromsgrove — a straightforward journey north — and the person who designs your furniture stays with the project through to installation. The first visit is free.

What we can do for Four Oaks homes

Most of our work falls into a handful of areas, though almost every project combines more than one. Each is made to measure for the room it goes into.

Bedroom storage, made to measure

Full-height fitted wardrobes that use the whole wall rather than stopping short of the ceiling, and walk-in dressing rooms where the room allows. With large Edwardian and interwar houses, many on generous plots common in Four Oaks, the internal layout matters as much as the doors.

Living room storage and media walls

A bespoke media wall brings the screen, equipment, cabling and storage into one considered piece, instead of a television on a stand with boxes underneath.

Home offices and studies

Work space that suits the hours you actually keep: a full study, or a fitted desk that disappears behind doors when the day ends.

Alcoves, shelving and smaller joinery

Alcove units and bookcases either side of a chimney breast, plus the smaller joinery — window seats, boot room storage, understairs cupboards — that makes a house work properly.

Designed for Four Oaks houses

Larger Four Oaks bedrooms can take a dressing room arrangement rather than a single run of wardrobes — separating hanging, folded storage and dressing into a considered sequence rather than one long wall of doors.

Working with what the room gives you

Straight walls are rarer than people expect, especially with large Edwardian and interwar houses, many on generous plots. Each piece is cut and scribed to the room as measured, so the finished run sits flush instead of relying on filler to hide the gaps. We also cover Edgbaston, Harborne, Sutton Coldfield nearby — see all the areas we cover we work in.

How it works

It begins with a conversation in the room itself, at no cost. Measurements, drawings and a written quotation follow. When it is agreed, the furniture is precision-made to our drawings and installed to our standards.

Your questions answered

What is the difference between fitted wardrobes and a dressing room?

A dressing room treats the whole space as storage, usually with open hanging, drawers and shelving arranged around a route through the room. Fitted wardrobes sit against a wall. Which works better depends on the room’s size and how you use it.

Do you install lighting inside wardrobes?

Yes — internal lighting, including sensor-operated strips, can be designed in. It is worth deciding early because it affects how the carcassing is built.

Can I see examples of your work?

There are examples across the site, and our bespoke projects page shows one-off pieces in more detail. We can also talk through comparable projects during the design visit.

What if my room has a sloping ceiling?

Sloping ceilings are one of the strongest arguments for made-to-measure. The carcasses are cut to the angle so the awkward low section becomes usable storage rather than dead space.

What happens at the first design visit?

We look at the room, measure it properly and talk through what the furniture needs to hold and how you use the space. It helps to have a rough idea of what is going in, but it is a conversation rather than a sales appointment.
