Care in the details. Character in the finish.

Traditional & bespoke finish carpentry

Well-considered carpentry gives a room a sense of completion. We help homeowners bring together traditional details and individual woodwork with careful fitting and an approach shaped around the property.

Stuart Crawford has over 10 years of industry experience. Whether you are updating one room or considering a wider interior project, the starting point is understanding the result you want.

Traditional detailing

Discuss timber details that sit comfortably with the character of your home. We look at the existing surroundings and the style you want to retain or introduce.

Bespoke interior woodwork

Some spaces need an individual solution. Tell us about the feature or piece you have in mind so we can consider its proportions, purpose and practical requirements.

Careful fitting

A good result depends on how the details meet the room around them. We consider the available space and the work involved before agreeing the design and scope.

A coordinated interior

Bring furniture and carpentry details into the same conversation. Finishes, handles and other visible elements can be considered together for a consistent result.

Start with your home’s character

Traditional and contemporary details can both benefit from a measured approach. Share what you like about the existing room, what you want to change and any examples that help explain your ideas.

Useful details to share

  • The room or area where the work is needed.
  • Existing details you want to retain or complement.
  • Photographs, sketches or inspiration if available.
  • Preferred materials, timing and budget.

The details make the difference

Consider knobs, handles, lighting and internal fittings alongside your main design. We can also discuss feature-wall finishes and worktops where they are relevant to your project.

Your questions answered

Can you help with a one-off carpentry detail?

Tell us what you have in mind. We will discuss the purpose, setting and practical requirements before confirming what can be included in a proposal.

How does this differ from second fix carpentry?

This page focuses on the individual appearance and finishing detail of interior woodwork. If your project centres on fitting the final carpentry elements during a renovation, our Second Fix Carpentry page is another useful starting point.

Who actually makes the furniture?

Every project is designed and managed by Crawford Bespoke Interiors, with the components precision-manufactured to our drawings by trusted specialist partners. We check the work before it is professionally installed to our standards, so there is one point of responsibility from the first visit to the last adjustment.

Can you match furniture across more than one room?

Yes, and it is usually worth planning it together. Working across rooms at once keeps finishes, handles and proportions consistent, and it tends to be more efficient than coming back for each room separately.

What if my room has a sloping ceiling?

Sloping ceilings are one of the strongest arguments for made-to-measure. The carcasses are cut to the angle so the awkward low section becomes usable storage rather than dead space.
