Prices & timescales

What it costs, and how long it takes

Every project is designed for a particular room, so there is no set price for a fitted wardrobe, a media wall or any other piece of furniture. Two units of a similar size can cost very different amounts once the layout, materials and details are taken into account.

Below are guide prices for the work we are most often asked to quote for, what makes the difference between one project and another, how to get an early budget without having every detail decided, and the timescales involved from design to installation.

Guide prices

The ranges below are a guide to the projects we are most often asked to price. They are not quotations: every piece is designed for one particular room, so where a project sits in its range depends on the layout, what goes inside the furniture, the doors and the finish. The rest of this page explains what moves the price, and why we quote after a free design visit rather than from a price list.

Fitted wardrobes

  • Single wall of two to three metres, hinged doors: £3,000 to £7,500
  • Longer runs, or a two-wall corner layout: £6,000 to £12,000 and upwards
  • Sliding doors on made-to-measure carcasses: £4,000 to £8,000
  • Walk-in wardrobes and dressing rooms: from £6,500
  • Sloping ceilings and awkward spaces: typically £500 to £1,500 on top, depending on how complicated the space is

Media walls

£4,000 to £12,000 and upwards.

From contemporary media units to larger bespoke feature walls with integrated cabinetry, shelving, decorative panelling and lighting.

Alcove units

£2,500 to £6,000 per pair.

Bespoke fitted cupboards and shelving either side of a chimney breast, with options including drawers, integrated lighting and factory-sprayed finishes.

What affects the price

The size of the space is only the starting point. What goes inside the furniture, and how it is finished, usually matters more.

Fitted wardrobes

The size and shape of the space, the number and style of doors, and what you want inside. Hanging space and shelving are relatively straightforward; drawers, internal fittings, lighting and more detailed finishes add to the work involved.

Media walls

The overall width, the balance of open shelving and concealed storage, and whether the design includes a fireplace, lighting or concealed TV cables.

Dressing rooms

Often several runs of furniture, and they may include drawers, mirrors, lighting or an island.

Home offices and alcoves

Anything from simple shelving and storage to fully fitted desks and cabinets. Larger projects covering more than one room are priced as a complete design.

Getting an early budget

You do not need to have every detail decided before contacting us. Send photographs of the space, approximate measurements, your postcode, and any ideas or inspiration you have.

An idea of your budget and preferred timescale helps too. From there we can discuss what you are looking for and give you an early budget guide before we develop the detailed design.

Materials and finishes

Materials and finishes also make a difference to the price. We will talk you through the options and where it makes sense to spend more, so the finished piece works for your home and your budget.

The first discovery and design visit is free, with no obligation.

How long does it take?

The design stage depends on the project and how quickly we can agree the layout, materials and finishes together. Once the final design is signed off, materials can generally be supplied in less than three weeks, although specialist items and finishes may take longer.

Fitting usually takes between two days and two weeks. A smaller alcove unit or a straightforward wardrobe is quicker than a full dressing room, a detailed media wall or a project spanning several rooms. We will give you a project-specific timescale before work begins.

Your questions answered

Do you have a price list?

Not a fixed one, because nothing we supply is a standard product. Every piece is designed for a particular room, so we price each project once we know the layout, the materials and what goes inside the furniture. The guide ranges above are there to give you a realistic starting point before anything is measured.

Can I get a rough idea before committing?

Yes. Send photographs, rough measurements and your postcode, along with an idea of your budget, and we can give you an early budget guide before any detailed design work.

Is the first visit free?

Yes, the initial discovery and design visit is completely free and there is no obligation. If detailed drawings are produced and the project is then cancelled, there may be a charge for that design work — we will tell you before we reach that stage.

How soon could you start?

It depends on the design stage and our fitting diary. Once a design is signed off, materials usually arrive within three weeks, and we agree an installation date with you as the design progresses.

What can make fitting take longer?

The condition of the space, access, and any preparation or remedial work needed before the furniture goes in. We will flag anything like that when we measure up.

Do you charge for the design drawings?

The first visit and the initial discussion are free. If the project goes further and we produce detailed drawings, that design work may be chargeable if the project is then cancelled. We will always make the position clear first.
